Description

While waiting for my target on May 28, I did a fly by the moon with the ASIAIR video feature, and captured this Lucky image of the Apennine Mountains. My skills when it comes to moon pictures are quite "entry level" at best. However, I think this picture is worth to be shared. Not only a large are of the the Apennines can be seen but also several  well known craters: Archimedes (the large one at the center- of Mare Imbrium), Aristillus and Autolycus (up to the right)  and even Timocharis (the small one on the left). It is amazing how much is possible to capture by a lucky image with a DSO camera. The moon is so interesting, and is always there and available!. We don't want her in sky for the astro photos, but it is really fun to take these pictures from time to time.
